The Traitor Inside Us

The figure of the traitor finds its origins in the ancient narrative of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ, notably embodied by Judas Iscariot. Judas, enticed by the promise of thirty silver coins from the high priests, infamously betrayed his teacher. In my conceptualization, these coins symbolize the allure of worldly vices, encapsulated within the framework of the seven deadly sins, also known as the 7 Capital Sins.

Central to my concept is the acknowledgment that each of us harbors a latent betrayer within our psyche, akin to Judas or the demon of desire, leading us astray from our true paths. Within my space, I’ve meticulously crafted seven installations, each dedicated to one of these cardinal sins: Envy, Pride, Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Sloth, and Wrath.

Utilizing the artistry of 3D anamorphic typography, I’ve brought these words to life, ensuring that each sin is not merely observed but experienced. Each installation offers a distinct vantage point from which the sin becomes unmistakably recognizable, inviting viewers to confront these facets of human nature and reflect on their own internal struggles. Through this immersive experience, I aim to provoke introspection and dialogue surrounding the universal themes of temptation and moral integrity.
